I'm a college student with nothing to do all summer. I am also a girl who has wanted to learn how to program since she was 14.
I am now 23.
But I have decided to stop procrasinating. I am going to learn how to program; I will shart off with Python. This is the first step I must take before I even attempt at making a game and it could take years. But that is why I have created this blog--to record my quest of learning how to program. Hopefully, updating this blog will help motivate me to accomplish a dream.
Inspired by other indie developers, I don't want to make money. I want to express my creativity by making a game.
What kind of game do I have in mind?
A story-driven linear RPG in the vein of Japanese Role-Playing Games such as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.
If I ever do make a game, this won't be my first game. I will probably make very simple games to test my programming skills sometime in the future, that is, if I succeed.
So, until I actually know how to program, this blog will be following my progress with programming rather than a progress on any game... yet.
This blog will also follow my boyfriend's growth as an artist. He is quite gifted but rusty in his technique and unfamiliar with graphics design, so he will be teaching himself how to make graphics just as I will be teaching myself how to program.
Which reminds me... I haven't composed any music in a long time, but I may use someone else as a composer in the end. Who knows though, I may work on that too.

Early ideas:
At this stage, it's probably not wise to come up with too many ideas for my future dream game. It's like wanting to play like Steve Vai the same day you bought your first guitar, a practice amp, and a guitar instruction booklet.
But I do have one idea. The protagonist is going to be female. She is also going to be black.
My boyfriend has already done sketches of her; she is absolutely gorgeous! Maybe soon you will see for yourself...
